More than ever before, there is a crucial need for visual journalists to observe, report, and share important fact-based stories of what is happening in our changing world. This course begins with an understanding of how to gain fundamental skills needed to produce images for publication in today’s media. Students will be able to demonstrate an ability to think as a visual journalist by finding stories, pitching them, and creating a compelling longform photo series about a place or community of people that surrounds them.
